ENERGYbits Inc. is a small but rapidly growing national plant-based nutrition company based in Boston’s Beacon Hill area. Our algae tablets provide energy, focus, wellness, beauty and fitness benefits naturally from one ingredient all without chemicals, caffeine or sugar. Our customers are affluent health conscious consumers, fitness enthusiasts and wellness professionals and we are sold nationwide through wellness professionals, fitness studios and spas. We have won multiple awards for our vision/mission and are hiring a National Communications Manager to oversee, manage and grow our external communications.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years agency or corporate PR experience working with consumer and trade publications preferably in the health and wellness sector. You should have excellent writing and communication skills, enjoy multi-tasking and be passionate about wellness. You must also be excited about working at a fast paced startup. Additional Requirements

  • Must be currently based in the Boston area
  • Recent college graduate in Communications/PR from a top tier university
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills
  • Able to flourish with minimal guidance, meet deadlines, learn quickly and be proactive
  • Able to travel occasionally to national conferences, events or media tours


As our Communications Manager, you will oversee all external communications with media outlets (consumer and trade), write press releases, submit byline articles, create email blasts, work with influencers, podcasters and event organizers to promote our brand and our CEO as experts in algae nutrition. You will also oversee promotions and interface with our social media team and may also oversee communications with customers and/or contribute to our blog and monthly newsletters.

Other duties include the following:

  • Pitch national trade and consumer publications and podcasts about our brand (wellness, fitness, beauty, chiropractic, longevity and lifestyle)
  • Write press releases and by line articles monthly to help improve our SEO
  • Send media samples, press releases, media kits as requested and do all follow up
  • Work with our events/social media team on special promotions
  • Be a problem solver who can get things done with style and grace under pressure, meet and deadlines and oversee interns
  • Be excited and passionate about our healthy, innovative brand
  • Able to travel occasionally to our national wellness trade shows


Base of $35,000 - $50,000 base plus performance bonus that could potentially bring total compensation package up to $70,000/year

  • Position is a contract position that automatically renews annually (you file a 1099)
